WEILBURGER Graphics - Production Blister packaging
Together with Kartonveredlung Knapp GmbH and KOCH Pac-Systeme GmbH, we realised a sample series of blister packs for flower seeds for WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH. A total of three different blister packs were produced. Including a variant with a cardboard bonnet.
In addition to the packaging design, we also realised the tutorial for this project as well as another landing page for the project that can be accessed via a QR code on the packaging. We also implemented a 3D model on this page, which makes the cardboard bonnet variant interactive and explorable with all its effects.
A particular challenge here was the 3D realisation of the visible glass test tube and the print finishes on the back. Due to its transparency and refraction, glass in particular is generally difficult to visualise in such models rendered live in the browser. Until a few years ago, this was not even possible. However, if you zoom in on our model (simply use two fingers to zoom in), you will realise that we have not only mastered the transparency but have even been able to implement the Fresnel refraction (lens effect) par excellence, which is usual for such glass bodies, in order to create the greatest possible realism. We have even incorporated a slight iridescence, i.e. a shift in the colour spectrum through the glass.
On the reverse, both the silver cold transfer finish and the hybrid matt/gloss effect varnish used are clearly visible. And as the hybrid lacquer was planned as a textured lacquer, we even incorporated the microstructure of the lacquer that is usual with such finishes.
As already mentioned in our WEILBURGER Graphics beverage cooler portfolio, there are virtually no products, materials and print effects today that we cannot visualise and present in a sales-promoting way with our workflow and our 3D models.
